Citizenship interview practice · Independent study aid

Hear it.
Say it back.

Official USCIS civics questions, spoken out loud, with a mock that stops like the real interview. The 2008 or 2025 set is chosen from your N-400 filing date.

Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Unrestricted practice requires an active subscription of $16.99 every three months.

  • 65/20 set

Twenty starred questions when age and LPR time qualify.

  • Works offline

  • No streaks

Miss a day and the plan moves forward. No penalties, no ads.

How a session works

The interview is oral. Practice should be too.

Hear the official question, answer with your voice or by typing, check against USCIS wording, then mark it yourself. Multiple choice exists, labeled as low-pressure learning only.

Hear it

The question is read aloud. Hear it again, or slower, until the wording settles.

Say it back

Answer with the microphone. The mic is optional — you can type every answer instead.

Check wording

Your transcript is compared to accepted USCIS answers. Fillers and number words are ignored.

Mark it

I knew it, or I missed it. Honest bands — comfortable, learning, needs practice — not a scoreboard.

The set that applies to you

Which test is yours?

USCIS uses the N-400 filing date. Filed before October 20, 2025 — the 2008 civics test. Filed on or after — the 2025 civics test. You can override the edition in Settings.

Cutoff is October 20, 2025. Dates stay on your device.

Practice interview

A mock that stops like the real one.

The 2025 interview asks up to 20 questions. It ends when you reach 12 correct, or 9 incorrect. CivicReady follows those rules, saves if you are interrupted, and lists every miss to restudy.

Official answers stay here

All 100 and 128 questions, accepted answers, and explanations are stored on the device. Study with no signal.

Your state’s answers

Senators, governor, and capital fill in from your state or territory. Items that may change are flagged so you can confirm them at uscis.gov.

A plan, not a streak

Enter an interview date. Daily sessions of 10–40 minutes pull what you missed, what is due, and what you have not seen. Miss a day — it moves forward.

Built to be read

Large type up to 1.3×, high contrast, reduce motion, screen reader support, and large tap targets. Type if you would rather not speak.

41 interface languages

Including Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Arabic. The civics questions stay in English, as they are in the interview.

AI sits below the official line

Optional coaching explains why a question matters. It never changes accepted answers and is off by default.

Not a government app.

CivicReady is an independent educational study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency.

It is not legal advice. It does not file Form N-400. It cannot guarantee a test result. Mock outcomes are practice estimates, never a USCIS decision. Always confirm current officials and test requirements at uscis.gov.

Questions

Before you download

Does this app represent USCIS or the U.S. government?

No. CivicReady is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by USCIS or any other government entity. Navy and civic blue are brand colors, not a claim of official status.

How much does it cost?

An active subscription is required for unrestricted practice. The subscription is $16.99 every three months and renews automatically until you cancel in your Apple or Google account settings. There is no free trial.

Which civics test will I study?

Form N-400 filed before October 20, 2025 uses the 2008 test (100 questions). Filed on or after that date uses the 2025 test (128 questions). You can override the edition, your state, and your dates in Settings.

What is the 65/20 set?

If you are 65 or older and have been a lawful permanent resident for 20 years or more, the app studies only the 20 starred questions and runs a 10-question practice interview with 6 correct to pass.

Does it teach the English reading and writing test?

No. CivicReady is for the civics portion of the interview. It does not teach the English reading or writing test as a separate product, and it does not fill out Form N-400.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Official questions, accepted answers, scoring, and explanations live on the device. Optional AI coaching and premium cloud audio need a network. Progress stays on your phone; there is no account.
