Who we are

CivicReady is an iOS and Android study app for the civics portion of the USCIS naturalization interview. It is made by CodeCross LLC (“CodeCross,” “we,” “us”), 1606 Headway Cir STE 9212, Austin, TX 78754. This policy covers the CivicReady app (bundle ID co.codecross.uscitizenship) and this website at https://civicready.app.

CivicReady is an independent educational study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

No account

CivicReady does not require a login. We do not create a user account for study. There is no cloud sync of your profile or mastery progress.

Information on your device

Study progress stays on this device: your N-400 filing date, date of birth, LPR date, state, interview date, preferences, and question history are stored in a local database named civic_ready. Resetting local data in Settings removes that profile and progress. Official USCIS questions stay on the device.

Microphone and speech

The microphone is optional. You can type every answer. If you use oral practice, speech recognition stays on the device unless you turn on cloud audio in Settings.

Optional AI coaching

If you turn on AI coaching, the app may send the current official question, USCIS-accepted answers, and an optional answer transcript to a protected Firebase function so we can return a plain-language explanation. Date of birth, N-400 filing date, LPR dates, and device identifiers are not sent. AI never changes the accepted USCIS answers.

Optional cloud audio

If you turn on cloud audio, a short answer recording may be sent for transcription and is deleted immediately after processing. Premium question audio is generated from official question text, not from your voice. Without that consent, speech stays on the device.

Subscriptions and payments

Purchases go through Apple or Google. We do not collect or store your card number. Restore purchases is in the app (paywall and Settings). Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple or Google account settings.

Notifications

Daily study reminders are opt-in. Permission is requested only if you enable them. You can skip or turn them off in Settings.

Crash reporting

Crash reporting is collected only when AI coaching or cloud audio consent is on.

This website

civicready.app is a static product site. It does not use a contact form, advertising pixels, or HubSpot. Hosting logs may include a standard IP address, browser type, and requested URL.

Children

CivicReady is for adults preparing for naturalization. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
